I’m José Vargas — though some people simply call me Vargas.

I’m a creative director, fashion editor, photographer and DJ working across fashion, image, music and contemporary culture. My work may take different forms, but it always begins in the same place: curiosity, observation and a strong point of view. With a background in Architecture and Urbanism, I naturally think in terms of structure, context and experience. That perspective shapes the way I approach creative direction, editorial projects and photography—looking beyond what something looks like to understand what it means, what it communicates and how it can connect with people.

Over the years, I’ve worked with brands, talents and publications developing campaigns, visual identities, fashion stories, interviews and cultural projects. I enjoy being involved from the first idea to the final result: defining the concept, shaping the narrative, directing the image and making sure every detail belongs to the same world.

My editorial work is an essential part of who I am. Through writing, interviews and visual storytelling, I explore fashion not only as an industry, but as a language that reflects identity, society and the way we live. Photography allows me to turn that perspective into images, while music gives it another dimension—one built through energy, atmosphere and presence.
